Welcome to The Complications Chapter

We all dream of how our lives will go: grow up, get married, buy the house, have babies. So simple — yet it can turn out so complicated.

Let’s talk about having babies — the complications chapter.

Welcome to my blog, where I want to share my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences and stories. Maybe, as my little babs gets older, I’ll share even more — but that’s where we’ll start for now.

I’ve been with my partner for 7 years, and a few years ago, we decided to expand our family. Everyone around me seemed to be falling pregnant at the drop of a hat, but for us, it took the “average” amount of time — a year.

It sounds quick, but when you desperately want something and it seems to be happening for everyone around you except you, it becomes complicated, heartbreaking, and hard on everyone. That year felt long — full of disappointment, tears, and strain on our relationship.

The pressure I put on my partner, and the amount of time I spent thinking about pregnancy, was wild. But we survived that year — and got the outcome we dreamed of.

It happened. With the help of my amazing gynae, we fell pregnant with our little bundle in April 2024.

I’m writing this in April 2025 — another year later. But so much more has happened since then, and that’s what this blog will mostly be about: the journey from falling pregnant to now…
